Considering the elegant theme of last night's Met Gala, as a tribute to one of the world's best couturier, Charles James, I expected more gowns and more elegance. Some fulfilled my expectations, while others took the rebellious route with short hemlines and on trend street styles like the crop top, which were nevertheless beautiful. Not always as Charles James as I imagined, but an amazing night for fashion (with a few misses).
Some of my favorites from the evening...
Blake Lively in a nude sequin Gucci dress. Stunning.
The only accessory that could make this evening look any better, is her handsome husband, Ryan Reynolds, in a velvet Gucci tux. Dreamy.
Beyonce and Jay Z in Givenchy. The slits, the plunging neckline, the train... amazing.
Queen Bey's best accessory/ status symbol? The well dressed man whose sole job was to adjust her dress on the red carpet. Only Bey could get away with that.
Sarah Jessica Parker co chaired this year's Met Gala with Bradley Cooper and wore a custom made black and white Oscar de La Renta gown. A voluminous white skirt (nod to Charles James) with elegant embellished white gloves and a white flower adorned updo was glamorous perfection.
Bradley Cooper love.
Here comes the pretty rebels...Emma Stone in a Thakoon color-blocked crop top skirt combination was modern and beautiful. Love the pink.
Anne Hathaway looks radiant in a red Calvin Klein column dress. Styled impeccably by Penny Lovell. Enough said.
And I just can't help by love this crew. Stella and her girls. Well done, ladies.
And a few more...
Zoe Saldana in a graphic print Michael Kors design.
Even funny girl Sarah Silverman gets glam for the big night. Amazing color.
Sure there were some misses of the evening, but let's focus on all the amazing designs that graced the rep carpet at this year's Met Gala. What a fashion moment it was.
